Meet the author of the Jaxon Hall series

Dr. Jan Hachenberger
Author of the Jaxon Hall series
Dr. Jan Hachenberger writes about machines because he has known them up close for nearly 30 years. As a consultant for IT and strategy and Chief Innovation Officer of the TIMETOACT GROUP, he guides companies through digital transformation, with a focus on data and artificial intelligence, technology adoption, and governance. Even in his doctoral thesis, he explored the protection and misuse of intellectual achievements in the digital age.
This knowledge informs his novels. In the Jaxon Hall series, Projekt Darkline and LYRA Rising tell of a future that has already begun, shaped by technological, economic, and social upheavals. With Robot Diaries, he expands the universe to include the perspective of the machines. In the first volume, an artificial intelligence recounts how a system becomes a being with its own desires. In the second volume, 0147, a robotaxi in Austin keeps a diary — and remains a tool that watches closely.
His questions are both professional and personal: How much control do we give to systems we no longer fully understand? And what remains of the human when systems learn to act on their own?
Jan Hachenberger lives and writes in the Cologne/Bonn area.
